gov Parks/Cacapon Resort State Park/Morgan County This employee will serve as the General Manager of Cacapon Resort State Park Lodge, which includes 120 lodge rooms and 31 cabins.
The lodge features a full-service restaurant, conference center and gift shop.
This position will serve as a working General Manager that assists the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Park Ranger in the daily supervision and operational oversight of the various departments of Cacapon Lodge including front desk, reservations, conference services, lodge and cottage housekeeping, laundry operations and gift shop operations.
Accordingly, this position may also serve as the manager on duty during special events, large conferences and in times of high occupancy and will be responsible for establishing a culture of excellent hospitality, customer service, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency as well as devise operational methods to increase business, revenue and profitability of Cacapon Resort State Park.
Tasks and duties to be performed by this employee will include, but not be limited to, the following:
schedule and supervise all departmental supervisory staff, perform human resource functions including interviewing, recommending, and training, as well as the completion of employee evaluations and conducting of employee discipline and detailed documentation, assist in the establishment of policies, practices and procedures for supervised areas, assist in conducting or participating in various management and staff meetings, provide guidance, consultation, and assistance to departmental managers as it relates to all operational aspects of their respective department, approve leave and maintain accurate leave records for staff; completes payroll for departments managed, maintain and promote courteous and effective customer service to park guests, manage all aspects of RoomMaster property management software system and Point of Sale (POS), become familiar with the online reservation systems, call center operations, phone systems, wireless internet systems, plumbing and water circulation systems, pool and spa systems, septic plant systems, satellite radio and television systems, and be familiar with computer systems and conferencing equipment and HVAC systems, troubleshoot and resolve guest and employee issues and complaints, manage the purchasing and procurement of various services and supplies, inspects employee work and makes recommendation for improvements, operates and is familiar with the operation of equipment such as cash register, computer, fax machine, scanner, copier, digital camera, calculator, security camera system, and fire alarm system, prepares oral and written presentations, assists with special events in set up, planning and oversight during events, develops methods to improve productivity and efficiency, works to improve all aspects of quality control for products and services rendered to park guests, makes recommendations for design and decoration improvements to park facilities, and assists in other departments as needed.
Employee must be available to work weekends, holidays, evening, and night shifts and will be expected to be available during peak and high-volume times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Regular attendance is required.
Minimum Qualifications Training:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
OR Substitution:
Additional experience below may be substituted at the rate of one (1) year for every thirty (30) semester hours of training.
AND
Experience:
Five (5) years of professional, managerial, and/or supervisory experience.
